EVENTS
I don’t photograph events however tagging an extended family session on to a milestone birthday or large family celebration is a wonderful idea. I will coordinate with you if going before or after the event will work the best.

A little more formal than my usual sessions, I feel these are the photographs you want to see everyone together, at once, appreciate their faces at the time they’re in now.
I’ll be guided by you but usually I tick off the group shots and spend an afternoon then capturing each family unit, any special groupings and all the candid moments in between.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
01It is very difficult to get everyone together, what happens if it rains?
If you are holidaying together I suggest booking the shoot towards the start of your trip. This gives us the most backup morning and afternoons possible. If it is unlikely we would be able to reschedule I will shoot in overcast weather with light intermittent rain. I only book one extended family session a month to ensure I am as available as possible for my outdoor reschedules. Your booking deposit can be transferred to another date or another family shoot should we be unable to reschedule your entire extended family session.
02My family are crazy, are you sure you want to do this?!
Welcome to the club! I work well under pressure and am pretty good at working with the energy presented to me. You will be surprised how enjoyable an afternoon spent together in the great outdoors with phones down and nowhere to be can be. Booking a table for dinner or picking up takeaway nearby is a great option to keep the afternoon and evening as enjoyable as possible.
03No way can I get everyone to look this good for our photos.
I provide guidance and inspiration towards how to direct the entire family for styling. I know it makes a huge difference for the resulting images. Choosing the colour palette and how you communicate to the group is the most important factor. If all else fails and Uncle Sam wears bright red and you know you don’t want that on your wall, I deliver about one in every five of my images in black and white and they’re usually just as standout. if not more when printed!
04We’d like to bring our dog to the extended family session?
This can all be catered for depending on the number of dogs, their temperament and the location we are shooting in. Just let me know your dream photos and I’ll let you know if I think it’ll work. I have a few skills (and a big soft spot) with the canines considering my previous career as a veterinarian.
